On September, 18-19, there was a round-table discussion at the Faculty of Law of The Donetsk National University (presently located at Vinnytsia). The subject was “The rights of refugees and internally displaced persons: the best European practices and ways of their implementation”, which was discussed within the framework of the same Project initiated by civic association SME SPOLU (Bratislava, Slovakia) under financial support of SlovakAid.
The Rector of the University R. Gryniuk spoke a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony. The recommendations of the Slovak experts were discussed during the meeting along with the issues of protection of rights of internally displaced persons in Ukraine which require legislative solution. Representatives of the executive bodies and local municipalities, judges of the Court of Appeal at the Vinnytsia region, lawyers, University professors and students most of which had obtained IDP status participated at the round-table discussion.
