Our awards

White Crow Award for aid to Ukraine

This year the Slovak council of “Biela vrana” awarded those that were helping Ukraine and its nation to protect itself from Russian aggression and those that were trying to mitigate the impact of the horrors of the war.

Ukraine-Slovakia SOS/SME SPOLU received the award “Biela vrana-2022” for aiding Ukraine together with the president of Slovakia, other Slovak organizations and volunteers.

Foreign volunteer in Slovakia - 2015

Continuous efforts of the volunteers of “Ukraine-Slovakia SOS” Charitable Fund and the NGO “SME SPOLU” in the coordination and collection of humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian hospitals, orphan homes and internally displaced persons is being highly evaluated by governmental institutions and NGOs of Slovakia.

Thus, on February 11, 2016 the Slovak national volunteer centre (CARDO) in cooperation with the Ministry of foreign and European issues of the Slovak Republic held “The Volunteer of 2015” award ceremony. Representatives of “Ukraine-Slovakia SOS” Charitable Fund and NGO “SME SPOLU” won an award in the “Foreign volunteer of Slovakia – 2015” nomination.

Besides that, the day before the President of the Slovak Republic Andrej Kiska entertained the volunteers of our Fund and expresses official gratitude for their labour.

At the same time, our Director Hanna Shvacka won an opportunity to tell the President about the up-to-date charitable projects which combine efforts of the Ukrainian community and representatives of other communities in Slovakia for the further effective aid to Ukraine.

Honorary title by the President of Ukraine

On October 16, 2017 the Director of “Ukraine-Slovakia SOS” Charitable Fund and the Slovak NGO “SME SPOLU” was awarded the Honorary title “For humanitarian assistance in the anti-terrorist operation” by the President of Ukraine.

The award was presented at the Luhansk Civil–military administration while “Ukraine-Slovakia SOS” Charitable Fund was delivering humanitarian aid from the Government of the Slovak Republic to the health care institutions of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

In the coordination and collection of humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian hospitals, orphan homes and internally displaced persons is being highly evaluated by governmental institutions and NGOs of Slovakia.
