„I have led the civic association SME SPOLU and the charity fund Ukraine-Slovakia SOS since their foundation in 2015. In our work I value that Man is the measure of all things.“

„My task is to ensure the school functions successfully, and each of its participants, no matter if a teacher, a student, a caring mother or junior staff, are happy and comfortable in school. I joined the project USE in April 2022, and I sincerely rejoice at the possibility to help Ukrainian children adapt in a new country and environment, as well as find friends and support here.“

„I joined the organization in February 2022, but even before I have been the administrator of the Facebook group “Українці в Словаччині” (“Ukrainians in Slovakia”). My department is Social media and information. What I like in my job most of all is the creation of a space where people can reach out with their requests, experience or problems, and receive answers and support. I feel very lucky to have become a part of this wonderful team of people great in heart.“

„I started working in SME SPOLU as a volunteer from the earliest days of the full-scale invasion. I assisted with accommodation search, with collection of humanitarian aid and with coordination of the volunteers at the border. Since April I am working as a coordinator of various events that take place in the Ukrainian and Slovak House. During this time, I discovered I have a great desire and strength to help our Ukrainian community to adapt in new conditions and to find the strength to create, meet new people, communicate, grow and learn.“

„I started volunteering in Ukrainian School in Evacuation in April 2022 as a History teacher, and I joined the team of SME SPOLU as an administrator of USE in September 2022. I graduated with a degree in “History and Archive Studies” from the Faculty of History of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Before 2022 I held various positions in mass media and in the museum field. I have executive experience. Historical documents are my source of inspiration. During my work here, I conducted over 50 tours around Europe (Austria, Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary, Italy and others) for displaced persons from Ukraine and taught over 250 History lessons.”

„From the first day of the full-scale war in Ukraine I joined the civic association SME SPOLU as a volunteer. Currently, I organize events for children, mothers, and also their grandmothers and grandfathers. Psychological and informational support, as well as a welcoming attitude to our visitors are paramount in my job. I do my work with pleasure and with love for people. I am overjoyed to see children smile, to see their mothers become more confident, and their grandmothers and grandfathers feel needed.“

„I am a salesperson and a cook by profession. I am working in the Ukrainian and Slovak House since April 1 2022. I am inspired by Slovakia, its magical nature and the beautiful places of Bratislava. In my work most of all I like our team and the interesting activity of the Ukrainian and Slovak House.“

I have vast experience in teaching and translation, and I love my job, which lets me meet new interesting people and be helpful in many areas of life. I am proud to be of use to the Ukrainian community in Slovakia.
